Metallic Charge, original mixed media on solid metal sheet | recycled salvage metal with yellow figures & plastic detail | 1/1 clouded one prototype
The Concept: Metallic Charge
"Metallic Charge" is a study in industrial conductivity and the first of its kind in the Clouded One archive. Built on a solid, glossy sheet of salvaged metal, this piece explores the moment energy is transferred through raw, rigid materials. It serves as a visual battery—storing the "charge" of the three central figures and acting as the blueprint for future textile movements.
The Imagery: High-Voltage Contrast
The work is anchored by a deep black spray-painted background that plays against the reflective, high-gloss finish of the metal substrate. White bursts suggest an electrical discharge or a cosmic spark, while vibrant splashes of yellow define three figures caught in a high-energy state. For added dimensionality, recycled twists of plastic are bonded to the surface, creating a tactile "interference" that disrupts the smooth metallic landscape.
The Materiality: The Salvage Prototype
A departure from traditional frames, this piece utilizes a solid metal sheet reclaimed from a salvage shop. At 9.2 lbs and a sleek 1-inch depth, it possesses a dense, industrial weight. Its sharp color palette and "charge" patterns make it the primary inspiration for upcoming Clouded One fabric and apparel designs, translating the energy of the metal into wearable form.
The Technical Specs
Title: Metallic Charge
Artist: Clouded One
Status: 1/1 Original (NFS - Archive/Fabric Prototype)
Dimensions: 22.5” x 12” x 1”
Weight: 9.2 lbs
Base: Solid salvaged metal sheet.
Materials: Spray paint, acrylic, recycled plastic twists, and high-gloss finish.
The Journey: Why This Exists
Clouded One is the creative manifestation of a journey led by the soul. My toolkit is whatever the world provides: salvaged bricks, foam, or—in this case—reclaimed metal. By following intuition over "correctness," I create pieces that provide energy. "Metallic Charge" represents the expansion of this journey, moving from the wall to the fabric of daily life.
Artist’s Note on Dimensions & Weight
Each Clouded One piece is a structural monument built from reclaimed and industrial materials (bricks, tile, foam, and wood). Due to the organic and "found" nature of these substrates, please note:
Weight Caution: This piece is heavy-duty (16 lbs). Please ensure your hanging hardware is rated for this specific weight and securely anchored into a wall stud for safety.
Handmade Variance: Dimensions and weights are approximate. I may round up slightly to the nearest half-inch or pound to account for the irregular, high-relief textures and industrial foam used. You are purchasing a physical landscape; its boundaries are as unique as its creation.
